School Closures Across Canada

With the Covid-19 pandemic, parents are finding a new challenge in terms of keeping their kids engaged and educated. We’re closely watching Canada’s case rate using Worldometer to see how our nation succeeds at “flattening the curve”. The last few days have been promising, but school administrators will no doubt face a tough decision on when they can reopen our classrooms. 

Here’s the latest status for schools nationwide:

  • Ontario – May 1, 2020
  • Quebec – May 1, 2020
  • BC – indefinitely
  • Alberta -indefinitely
  • Manitoba – indefinitely
  • Saskatchewan – indefinitely
  • Nova Scotia – May 1, 2020
  • New Brunwick – “Barring drastic improvement in the Covid-19 situation, schools in the province will remain closed for the rest of the year” – Education Minister Dominic Cardy
  • PEI – May 11, 2020
  • Newfoundland and Labrador – indefinitely
